It’s a new year. Full of new beginnings and fresh opportunities. Happy new year, guys❣.
I’m not usually one to hop on the ‘new year, new me’ bandwagon, or even make new year resolutions, but I have decided to change and improve on some things in my life. So this year, I’ve made resolutions and set challenge for myself. I hope I can achieve them. It’s not a ‘new year, new me’ thing, it’s a ‘new year, better me’ thing, a ‘new year, working on an upgraded me’ thing.
One of the most important resolutions I made at the beginning of this year is to get closer to God. I strayer towards the end of 2016, but I know if I go back, and work on rebuilding my relationship with God, He’ll have me. I made it through last year only because of his grace and I’m thankful for that.
The second most important resolution is seeking peace of mind. I will not overthink or overreact. I’ll try everything within my power to overcome my insecurities and all forms of depression. I’ll learn to love myself whole heartedly and not look to anybody for appreciation or validation.
This year, I want to work more on my writing. Work on writing more and on writing better. A lot of terrific ideas went to waste last year because I was too lazy to sit down, gather, compose and create something tangible with them. There’d be none of that this year.
I also want to be more responsible with my spending. I need to teach myself that it’s not necessary to accompany every meal with a bottle of Coke or malt or something. Water is enough. I also have to stop heading to Chicken Republic after every withdrawal (this one will be hard because Chicken Republic is so close to the bank ). Oyindamola, you won’t die of you don’t go to the mall every weekend. Saving a lot of money is a major goal this year.
I also want to cook more, and improve my cooking skills. I’m a great cook, my cooking banggsss. But yeah, there’s room for improvement. This would help me save money because when I cook, there’d be no need to patronize food vendors (I can confidently tell myself “there’s rice at home”)
I’m also going to read a lot of books this year, that’s another major goal.
And of course, I’m going to focus a lot more on my school work. Better grades this year.
So help me God.
