My Top Five TV Series of 2018

If you know me, you’d know I’m a TV series lover. I don’t have a particular genre I stick to, but I looovvvveeee family drama, comedy, retelling of history, and fairy tales, and also series that have lasted a while. I have watched many series that ended up getting cancelled so that’s definitely a con of watching TV series, but the game is the game. This year, I don’t think I got into less than 15 new TV series, and I still have some unopened and “unwatched” folders on my laptop and hard drive.

This is a list of my top five series of 2018. Please note that my use of 2018 simply means I started watching them in 2018, they all didn’t necessarily start airing in 2018. I just remembered Heroes and I want to cry LOL. That’s one of the TV series I watched and loved and it ended in a cliffhanger because they cancelled it. In fact, two of the shows on this list also got cancelled and one of them, The Catch, ended with a mad cliffhanger.

Here are the top five TV series I started in 2018, in no particular (I hyperlinked links to download the series from the site I use. You’re welcome):

Reign

Historical Romantic Drama

Hail Mary Queen of Scots, long may she reign. I binged all 4 seasons of Reign within 2 months (it has ended now). It’s such an amazing show, even though it didn’t have the most well planned ending as a result of it being canceled abruptly. They were, however, able to wrap things up to an extent. The acting was powerful, and the villains were awesome. If you watched Legend of the Seeker, you should remember Darken Rahl. He becomes of the main characters (in later seasons)  of Reign, and he was wonderful. I loved the story, the acting, the cast, the retelling of history, everything!

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Supernatural/ Mystery/ Drama/ Horror fiction

sabrina

I mentioned that I love retellings, right??? Well, this one is just amazeballs. I believe everyone already knows about Sabrina the teenage witch, half-witch, half-mortal. Well, this takes Sabrina’s world and puts it on a much larger, and much darker scale. By much darker, I mean muuucccchh darker. Sabrina literally has to choose between her mortality and getting the powers of a witch, and the devil (Satan ooo) wanted her soul bad bad. I can’t wait for Season 2 mannnnn.

Bojack Horseman

Adult Animation/ Comedy-Drama

bojack show

What’s not to love about Bojack Horseman? I can’t answer that question o because I love every single thing. I love how they merged humans and animals as equals beings in one world, and the animal stereotypes kill me. And also, when two animals of different species are expecting a baby, the ultrasound will not only reveal the sex, but the specie of the baby LOOOOOL. It’s a show about a horse that was a Hollywood TV star in the 90’s and the many imperfections of his life, and the lives of the cast around them. I binge watched all 5 available seasons in 3 weeks (likeee, I downloaded everything from Season 1, Episode 1 to Season 5, Episode 12 all by myself with my data. Did they jazz me LMAO).

The Office

Comedy-Drama / Satire/ Mockumentary

the office

Michael, Jim, Pam, Dwight, Angela, Kevin, Andy, Oscar, Kelly, Dunder Mifflin, and nine amazing seasons made up the world of The Office. Well, if the name doesn’t make it obvious enough, it’s about an office (duh), and it’s very funny and uniquely crazy workers. Their company (or branch) was always at risk of closing down or downsizing and that was a running motif throughout the show. It was really amazing with all the office romances (Jim and Pam, Micheal and Jan, Michael and Holly, Dwight and Angela, Andy and Erin, Kelly and Ryan), the office rivalries (Jim and Dwight), and all the quirky characters and their crazy lives. Got all nine seasons from my favorite boy Great, and I couldn’t take a break till I finished everything. I cried at the end oh, nine seasons no be beans.

The Catch

Romance/ Crime/ Comedy-drama

I’m really sad that this show got cancelled after the second season, because there was still so much that was going to happen. Apart from the story and the acting, my favorite thing about this series is how hot the main characters are. OMG the man is SUCH a stud (wink). It was great, and lots of spy romance and action-ish action. I loved IT!

If you have watched any (or all of these series), HMU and let’s talk about it LOL. What new series did you watch and love this year?

That’s all for now, bye!!!

Hi there!

My name is Ru, or Oyinda. I’ve been reading for as long as I can remember, and my love for books has only grown stronger over the years. There’s something so special about getting lost in a story and then sharing those thoughts with others. On this blog, you’ll find book reviews, honest (and sometimes rambling!) bookish thoughts, recommendations across different genres, and many more for fellow book lovers. Whether you’re searching for your next read or just want to chat about books, you’re in the right place.
