Reading is so much fun!

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog. Or, welcome to my blog, if this is the first post of mine that you’re reading. It’s great to have you all here and it’s my pleasure to announce that I have met, surpassed, and smashed my goal of 5 books for January. I’m so excited! So far, I’ve read 10 books!

It’s been such a thrill, and I have discovered a number of new authors that I absolutely love. Interestingly, they’ve all been female Nigerian authors, and they sabi the work die. A large percentage of the books have been magical, futuristic, and mythical, with aliens and magic, so discovering all these worlds has been so much fun.

I’m currently reading the 11th book, and I’m definitely going to read a lot more before the month ends. Who knew reading could be so fun? (LOL I knew, but it’s been amazing to fall in love with reading again.)

The Binti Trilogy by Nnedi Okorafor… so so good

I’ve been considering writing reviews of these books, but I just settled on writing my thoughts about them, to come much much later though, because I have soooooo much to do rn. Anywayyyy, here’s a list of books I’ve read so far in January 2020, in order:

  • Children of Blood and Bone – Tomi Adeyemi
  • Children of Virtue and Vengeance – Tomi Adeyemi
  • Freshwater – Akwaeke Emezi
  • Pet – Akwaeke Emezi
  • Stay With Me – Ayobami Adebayo
  • Binti – Nnedi Okorafor
  • Second Class Citizen – Buchi Emecheta
  • Binti: Home – Nnedi Okorafor
  • Binti: The Night Masquerade – Nnedi Okorafor
  • The Book of Phoenix – Nnedi Okorafor

I’ll be back soon with more content and more updates! Have a fun week!

Hi there!

My name is Ru, or Oyinda. I’ve been reading for as long as I can remember, and my love for books has only grown stronger over the years. There’s something so special about getting lost in a story and then sharing those thoughts with others. On this blog, you’ll find book reviews, honest (and sometimes rambling!) bookish thoughts, recommendations across different genres, and many more for fellow book lovers. Whether you’re searching for your next read or just want to chat about books, you’re in the right place.
